Summerfields was built over three decades, so the right roof plan depends on which street you live on and what year your home went up. Salter Exteriors Roofing & Remodeling is a Fort Worth-based roofer serving Summerfields in far north Fort Worth. Reach us at 972-246-7448 (text or call).
North Fort Worth's first big subdivision
Dallas-based Cambridge Companies began Summerfields in the 1970s on more than 1,000 acres. It was the first large subdivision on Fort Worth's far north side, years before Park Glen and Heritage. Summerfields Park, acquired by the city in 1978, is still the neighborhood's center.
Which era is your home from?
Census estimates for the Summerfields area show roughly 3,700 homes from the 1970s, about 8,100 from the 1980s, and more than 3,000 each from the 1990s and 2000s. A 1978 home and a 2004 home on nearby streets can be on very different roof cycles. Older homes may already be on a second or third roof. A free roof inspection tells you what is actually up there.
No HOA approval, but check your deed
The Summerfields Neighborhood Association dissolved on January 31, 2025, and it never enforced deed restrictions. That does not mean no restrictions exist on your lot. Check your title documents before a roof project.
Hail across north Tarrant County
On August 26, 2026, the National Weather Service logged 1 to 1.5-inch hail near Keller, Park Vista Boulevard and the Alliance area, all close to Summerfields. Hail on older roofs often shows up as bruised or loose shingles you cannot see from the yard. We document storm damage with dated photos and can meet your adjuster. See storm and hail damage restoration and emergency roof tarps.
Trim and paint on the older homes
Homes from the '70s and '80s often need wood work at the roof edge as well. We handle fascia and soffit repair and exterior painting along with roof repair and roof replacement. Every replacement includes our 5-year labor warranty, transferable if you sell.
